​Japanese DOJO Backyard Cottage


Repair/conversion of a detached garage to a DADU for a Japanese DOJO.  The unit is meant for guests to stay when visiting from Japan, or as a rental unit.  Thorton Creek in North Seattle runs through the site.  The project sits on 4 Environmentally Critical Zones - riparian corridor, wetland, flood and steep slope.  Because of the proximity to critical zones, we used pin piles to reinforce the existing foundation for the second story addition and repair to foundation.
